Known as the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautam (Buddha), Lumbini Province is renowned as a significant tourist attraction and a center for youth empowerment and education. The inception of the Lumbini Provincial Model United Nations Simulation by the Youth Thinkers Society in 2020 aimed to cultivate the talents of emerging youths. Although the first edition was conducted virtually to accommodate high demand, it laid a crucial foundation for upcoming LUNS events.
In 2023, the Lumbini United Nations Simulation (LUNS) held its second edition, carrying forward the objective of promoting intellectual development and active participation among the youth.
As the fifth stop for Road to EIMUN 2024, the third edition of LUNS was held in Siddharthanagar from March 28-30, 2024. Youth delegates from various districts of Lumbini engaged in insightful debates on global matters, highlighting the immense potential of Lumbini’s youth community.
