The far western beauty of Nepal, hosting a vast land of holy and untouched natural riches of Nepal, is home to abundance of cultural and social diversity. With the fiscal development of the region every year, the opportunities and platform for the youth development is soaring up every year. Providing such a platform to groom the new future of the province and the nation itself, the Sudurpaschim Model United Nations (SMUN), was first introduced as a campaign led by EIMUN also known as Road to EIMUN in 2020. The event aims to bring out the latent capacities of the youths and utilize their leadership, diplomatic and problem solving skills in addressing the international and novel problems.
After overcoming the woeful pandemic, the EIMUN 2023, expedits the second edition of SMUN- 2023, in Devotee Hotel, Dhangadhi from 23rd March to 25th March, 2023. The event comprised delegates across the province from different universities and high schools, where the youths dealt with the gore issue of early marriage and policies reformation and implementation. The issue was dealt with collective enthusiasm and novel ideas were presented upon collaborative debate between the delegates. The passionate conference stands out as a novel experience and a platform for youths of the left wing of Nepal to instigate an experience of international simulation of the conference. Their relentless research efforts and discussions has given fruition to an idea of a new world order where peaceful co existence is at the heart of it.
All in all Sudurpaschim Model United Nations was a huge success and a major breakthrough in developing the intellectual capacities of the young individuals in strategy making and perpetuating diplomacy. The entire organizing team wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
