My foray into the world of Model United Nations (MUN) began in 2018 during my college days, and it was an exhilarating experience that left a lasting impression on me. The thrill of engaging in diplomacy, international relations, and geopolitics ignited a passion within me that couldn’t be quelled. In 2020, I had the opportunity to participate in the YTS’s first virtual Provincial MUN- Karnali MUN, which further ignited my love for MUNs. However, I yearned for even more significant opportunities to immerse myself in this world.

Fortune smiled upon me when I was offered a chance to join the Karnali Model United Nations (KMUN) organizing committee this year. This opportunity rekindled my enthusiasm for MUNs, and I was ecstatic to be a delegate at the Everest International Model United Nations (EIMUN) 2023. Despite being a Computer Science student, I was elated to find myself in the ECOFIN committee, where the agendas were closely related to my academic field.

EIMUN 2023 turned out to be an extraordinary experience for me. From the pre-conference engagements with a diverse and brilliant group of delegates to exchanging and discussing fascinating ideas, every moment was enriching. I am eternally grateful to EIMUN and the Youth Thinkers’ Society for making this remarkable experience possible. The whole journey felt like a lifetime experience- from the committee sessions that stretched into the late hours, to the intense research that pushed our intellectual boundaries. But it wasn’t just the academic aspect that made my EIMUN experience unforgettable. The meticulously planned networking events, such as the Global Village, Pink Echapper, Escapade night, and Heritage Walk, added a touch of excitement and great enthusiasm to the conference. It was a true experience of a lifetime, and I cherished every single moment.

As EIMUN 2023 drew to a close, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions. It was my last MUN, as I had initially thought, but being part of this extraordinary event made me reconsider. I left with the determination to attend the next edition of EIMUN, knowing that this is a journey I can’t part with easily. The hospitality extended by Mr. Kshitiz and Mr. Chewan, and the entire organizing committee, along with the warm YTS family, added a personal touch to the entire event. Their dedication and efforts created an atmosphere of inclusivity and support, which made each delegate feel valued and appreciated. 

On the whole, EIMUN 2023 was a transformative journey of diplomacy, passion, and camaraderie. As a delegate in the ECOFIN committee, I found myself embracing my love for international relations and geopolitics. I will forever treasure the late-night committee sessions, the memorable night programs, and the connections forged with fellow delegates. My heart brims with gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible event, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to EIMUN, YTS, and every individual who contributed to making this experience one that I will cherish for a lifetime.
