Stepping in the Everest International Model United Nations 2024 (EIMUN) as an International Press was like diving into whirlpool of emotions, connections, diplomacy, unfolding discussions, late night sessions contemplating new words to enrich each day articles and amplifying voices and perspectives of Delegates. As a neophyte EIMUNer, initially I was doubting myself for position of International press as I thought it as significant burden that I couldn’t cope with but frankly speaking, my thought turned upside down once I began my journey of EIMUN as an IP.
Adding element of realism on articles, creative storytelling regarding delegates diplomacy, pondering words to insert in newsletter really boosted my mental acuity. Being an agricultural student, Food and Agricultural Organization of United Nations committee was best committee for me to report on and I considered myself fortunate to be IP of this committee. Not only I indulged on deeper understanding of international issues but I enhanced my own intellect regarding my subject matter- Agriculture.
From never sharing room with anyone to sharing room with best people ever, my nights unfolded with cascades of laughter, deep conversations, staying till 4 a.m in morning along with other IP members weaving tales of ghosts that kept us spellbound and entertained. Likewise, our late night article enriching sessions leading to brain exhaustion accompanied by fun games really fostered teamwork and collaboration skills between IP members leaving our heart shattered, teary eyes during separation after five days.
Overall, the dedication and tireless efforts of the organizing committee making EIMUN 2024 a steller success was captivating. All in all, the depth of my EIMUN experience cannot be fully expressed through these words alone. EIMUN 2024 ended capturing faces reflecting mosaic of emotions, reluctant to part ways but quietly packing bags in hope to meet in near future. Needless to say, the program impact continues to resonate till now in my heart and mind.Anuja Baral
