Dear Model U.N. Delegates,

As the U.S. Ambassador to Nepal, I am excited to announce that this year’s South and Central Asia Region-wide Everest International Model United Nations (EIMUN) Conference will be hosted in Kathmandu from July 10-14, 2023.  The U.S. Embassy in Nepal is a strong advocate of youth empowerment, and we believe programs like Model United Nations (MUN) hone leadership skills, promote multilateralism, encourage debate, and provide a useful platform to utilize negotiation and public speaking skills.

In this regional MUN program, you will join a dynamic group of 200 delegates from across the South and Central Asia region. You will discuss a variety of issues including climate change, anti-corruption and transparency, human rights, and cybersecurity issues. At MUN, you will experience the complexity of international relations.  You will also experience different perspectives, the challenges of negotiating, and leave with a broader view of the complexities and nuances of international relations and diplomacy. Throughout the conference, I hope you will embark on a life-changing journey that will help you build confidence, gain insights on global issues, develop skills necessary to become global citizens and international leaders, and the chance to make new friends from around the region.

I look forward to seeing you at the conference in July.
